Dongfang Electronics Corporation is one of the earliest domestic manufacturers to enter the substation automation field, having introduced multiple generations of products, from early remote RTUs to the latest new-generation highly reliable secondary systems, to the market, making outstanding contributions to the development of power systems. By the end of 2022, the complete set of independently controllable products had been developed and passed the State Grid's professional testing, certified by authoritative institutions as reaching internationally leading levels. Meanwhile, the 220kV and above high-voltage series protection devices have obtained qualifications and are ready for supply. In 2023, Dongfang Electronics Corporation' first new-generation highly reliable secondary system was fully deployed at the 110kV Jibu substation in Jiangxi, completing technical reserves for future substation integrated automation requirements.

In 2020, the company undertook a scientific research project jointly promoted by Zhejiang Electric Power Company and China Electric Power Research Institute - "Application research of distributed parallel DC power system based on LFP batteries in 220kV indoor substations". The project was successfully implemented and put into operation in 2021 at State Grid's new digital smart substation - Hangzhou Shanan 220kV power transmission and transformation project. As a supporting project for the Hangzhou Asian Games, it was selected as a benchmark case among State Grid's 50 best practice substations. The project represents one of State Grid's two pilot LFP battery-based parallel digital power systems and serves as a key component of smart substations prioritized for promotion by both grid companies.

The Kuqa-Aksu-Bachu-Kashgar 750kV power transmission and transformation project, officially commenced in September 2014, involved the construction of three new 750kV substations in Aksu, Bachu, and Kashgar. The project utilized the intelligent integrated power supply system provided by our company and was put into operation in 2015. This project is part of the backbone grid for realizing Xinjiang's 750kV power grid with "three ring networks, dual channels, and two extensions" during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, and it is a key project in Xinjiang for 2015.

On December 4, 2020, the national key poverty alleviation project - the Ngari and Central Tibet power grid interconnection project was successfully put into operation. All integrated intelligent power supply equipment for six newly built substations, including the Chawu 500kV substation and Gyirong 500kV substation, was provided by our company. This project promotes the comprehensive formation of a unified modern large power grid in Tibet with 500kV as the backbone grid, ending the long history of isolated grid operation in the Ngari region, fundamentally solving the power shortage problem in Ngari, and significantly enhancing Tibet's energy development and economic growth capabilities.

The user configured an integrated remote operation and maintenance system, automatic point-to-point acceptance device, and safety operation and maintenance terminal to address the differences in operation and maintenance configurations and external communication capabilities of secondary equipment such as substation monitoring backends, telecontrol devices, and measurement and control devices, improving the automation operation and maintenance capability within the station.

The project carried out point-to-point verification for four substations, ensuring full-process coverage from primary equipment actuation to complete loop acceptance of master station alarm windows. This was combined with synchronous acceptance of remote control and telemetry to achieve comprehensive acceptance of key actual telemetry signals. After adopting the automatic acceptance mode, the acceptance efficiency of operation and maintenance personnel on the substation side increased by 53%, and that on the dispatch master station side increased by 91%.
